At the bus station in central Chiang Rai lies our bakery. Here, bread and pastries are made according to Scandinavian fashion. The bakery is well-attended by the local population as well as foreign guests.
The enterprise employs nine young people, around 18 years of age, who live at the boarding home in HuaDoi. The aim is both that the teenagers obtain vocational training and that the enterprise will contribute financially to BaanChivitMai.
The bakery has been founded with help from Sune Wissmar, who runs Scandinavian bakeries in Laos. Some of the teenagers have received education at Peder Skrivare’s upper secondary pastry-baking school in Varberg, Sweden.
The bakery is well-attended by the local population and tourists.
Our new facilities is also sufficient to cook and serve thaifood.
Classic Princess Cake is a coveted delicacy at the bakery.
