In 2005 we are expecting to launch the preventive work with mobile teams. Their task will be to visit the remote villages in the North and inform about HIV and AIDS in the tribal languages of the mountain villagers.
The consequences of the sex trade are disastrous in Northern Thailand. Travelling pimps buy teenage girls and bring them to the brothels in Bangkok. If the girls eventually return home, they are often HIV-infected. In many villages every inhabitant between 20 and 45 years of age have died of AIDS.
Even today we have visiting programmes and regularly visit some 30 families that have been stricken with AIDS.

Families that have been stricken with AIDS usually experience severe misery.
