20 Years Anniversary In 2009 it was 20 years ago since Eva Olofson started BaanChivitMai in the slums of Bangkok. It was celebrated with a big party on the 21 of november at the Huadoi home. All the children were dressed in their traditional clothing and the westerners wore the finest they had. The children danced and sung and it was truly a festive mood. One of the headspeakers was the founder Eva Olofsson who told everyone how it all started in ChiangRai. From one rented wooden house in the beginning until today were it is now 4 owned houses with a total of 120 children. Through the years hundreds of children have had a sanctuary at BaanChivitMai. As a spokesman for the children Nalee described the experience of coming to BaanChivitMai as if coming to heaven. ![]() Eva was interpreted by Bele and not an eye was dry. |
