Our largest ministry is the boarding home in HuaDoi, 7 km east of Chiang Rai, where around 50 children live, originating from villages in northern Thailand. The children are 3 to 20 years old and go to the state preschools, primary schools and upper secondary schools in Chiang Rai.
If it weren't for the home in HuaDoi, these children wouldn't get an education as their home villages are too far away. Several of the children have lost their parents in AIDS or to long-term imprisonment due to drug dealing, thus, they have nowhere to go.
To many of the children who have been in the danger-zone of getting into prostitution and degradation, HuaDoi has become a place of refuge. Here they can grow up in safety without a risk of being sold to traffickers or ending up on brothels in one of the country's big cities.
The boarding home works as a family with the managers as parents. Everyone helps out cleaning, cooking and doing other chores. The home has its own farming with rice-cultivation, pigs, chickens, fish breeding, vegetables and fruit-trees.
